I've just completed my migration of old posts to this new blog. Method I used for it isn't very nice however, it look like it is successful. I basically wrote some code to export posts from DB into a private format and programaticly imported those into BlogEngine. It was bit time consuming, however, tags/categories/comments etc are well preserved and it worth the effort. I've also added 301 redirects from old URL to new ones; it was not that difficult as SEO titles of post in the old and new system are same.

Also, my first attempts at code formatting in BE were unsuccessful. I am not looking for colorful code, just enough to highlight the code and if possible, to use line numbers. I'll play with BlogEngine and see whether I can manage a simple highlighter for me.

Today I upgraded the wordpress from 2.51 to 2.61 and also made some layout changes to the other section of the site.

I been using wp 2.51 from the very beginning of this site and didn't upgrade to wordpress 2.6 when it was released. But finally, I decided to upgrade my blog to the latest wordpress version.

and the layout changes to the other parts of the site was to modify the design to match the wordpress default theme. Also I removed the about page and transferred the contents of it to the homepage. As I am not a design person by any means, the responsibility of doing it cleanly and making sure that it looks nice was entrusted upon my brother.

Also, the new upgrade to wordpress 2.61 doesn't break the txcaptcha. The txcaptcha logical captcha protection is working very well.

In these times when having an user account at any of the social bookmarking sites is a normal thing for
any internet savvy person, I also tried to join the party. at http://www.digg.com. Like any membership based site, digg also want that its users must be real persons. Usual, every website would want that. What is the method to insure that the registrant is indeed a human? Yes, you guessed right! "CAPTCHA"!.

A new search engine cuil.com, was launched recently by a former employee of google. According to various articles on the web and cuil's home page, cuil's index contains 121,617,892,992 web pages, really a large database. But does that make it a better search engine? Better enough to beet google?
